  • Famous Tavacı Recep Usta: This is one of the first places that comes to mind when thinking of Ankara tavası. Recep Usta says, “If I have provided a different taste, a good meal, and excellent service, then I am the happiest person in the world.”

  • Ali Uzun Şekercilik: This is one of the most recommended places for buying lokum (Turkish delight) in Ankara. Opened in the 1930s, this shop is known for its classic confectioneries as well as akide şekeri (traditional hard candy), helva, pişmaniye (pulled sugar), almond paste, and lokum.
